The Missouri Department of Transportation will be taking away a lane of I-229 this week.
MODOT says they will be trimming the southbound lanes of the highway down, to just one lane, near downtown St. Joseph. That is so that MODOT crews can repair the bridge joints on the Poulin Street overpass throughout this week. Officials add that the lane closures could be in place overnight.
All work is weather dependent, but the lane reduction should be over by sometime on Friday.
